Densho shinka (Bind-type) / 伝承進化 (糸括りタイプ)

MEMO

This is a piece created using the traditional “thread-binding” method, where the entire piece is assembled using a needle and thread.

It features a part that resembles parts of a traditional kusudama, as well as parts curled like flower petals, but they are actually a single piece. The color variations result from using origami paper with that specific color scheme.

Although I originally designed this over twenty years ago, I finally felt inspired to draw a folding diagram, so I tweaked and refined the design a bit. → Color Change.

“Densho shinka” means that the traditional work has evolved.



針と糸で全体をまとめる、昔ながらのくす玉、糸括りタイプの作品です。

伝承のくす玉のパーツのような部分と、花弁のようにカールされている部分とがありますが、両方でひとつのパーツです。色分けされているのは、そういう配色の折り紙を使っています。

20年以上も前の創作ですが、ようやく折り図を描こうかなという気になったので、少しアレンジしていじってみました。→色変わり。

この色変わりの作品は、なかなかのクセモノで、図面の制作はかなり格闘しました。結局『これ、一体誰が理解できるんだろう。』というぐらい、へたくそな図解になってしまいました。すみません。
折れる人がいたら、あっぱれ。
