This piece combines “Folia” from “Kusudama Suite”—a series of works that explore “how to connect simple shapes”—with “Mitra,” which is connected using Arabesque joints. This Mitra is assembled using the Folia method.

Works connected with Arabesque joint can usually be connected using some of the methods employed in the Kusudama Suite.

A work that is very similar to Folia is “Sarabanda.” The way the pieces are joined is exactly the same, and this Mitra can also be made with the same structure as Sarabanda. (I won’t do it, though, because it wouldn’t look any different from Folia.)

The name Mitra comes from a god in Iranian mythology. I just realized I misspelled it…hahaha…



『シンプルな形をいかにつなぐか』にチャレンジした作品群『くすだま組曲』の『フォリア』とアラベスクジョイントでつなぐ『ミスラ』を掛け合わせた作品。ミスラをフォリアの方法で組み立てています。

アラベスクジョイントでつなぐ作品は、たいていくすだま組曲に使われているいずれかの方法でつなぐことができます。

フォリアに非常に似通っている作品に『サラバンダ』があります。つなぎ方もまったくおなじで、このミスラもサラバンダとおなじ構造にすることができます。（見た目にフォリアと代わり映えしないので、やりまへんが。）

フォリアはヨーロッパでは良く知られている舞曲で、Folia はポルトガル語です。スペイン語では「La Folía」、英語では「Follies」、フランス語は「folies d’Espagne」、イタリア語では「La Follia」というようです。
なぜに、英語ではなくポルトガル語を作品名にしたのかというと、フォリアの起源がどうやらポルトガルらしいという説があるので。くすだま組曲の名前はだいたいそういう風につけてます。
