This is a variation of the Mitsudomoe unit protrusion. Combine two parts of different sizes to create a single part. No adhesive is required either when combining the parts or when assembling the parts into the whole.

The triangular mountain shape features three three-dimensional triangular decorations. These triangular decorations are formed without using any adhesive. While they look very intricate, the structure itself is quite simple.

Looking at them, they somehow resemble a rock covered in tiny shells—so much so that I considered naming the piece ‘Barnacles’, hahaha.

The work name “Three Diamonds” comes from a Japanese family crest “Yose-mitsubishi”.



三つ巴ユニット凸のバリエーションです。サイズの違う二つの部品を組み合わせて、ひとつのパーツを作ります。部品を組み合わせる時も、パーツを全体に組むときも接着剤は必要ありません。

三角山の部分に、三つの立体的な三角の飾りがついています。この三角形の飾りは接着剤を使わずに形成します。見た目はとても複雑そうに見えますが、構造はいたって単純です。

見ていると、なんだか岩に小さな貝がたくさんついているようにも見えてきて、作品名を『フジツボ』にしようかと思ったほど。

作品名は家紋『三つ菱』から。

雑談

三菱グループのロゴマーク『スリーダイヤ』も、もともとは家紋が由来らしい。
ただし、寄せ三菱とは関係がなく、三階菱（さんがいびし）と三つ柏（みつかしわ）を組み合わせたもの、なんだとか。興味深い。
