Neith of Giovanni / ジョバンニのネイト

MEMO

This is “Neith,” a work I created in 2016. It consists of 30 parts and is a modular piece that can be assembled without the use of glue.

The name comes from ‘Neith’, a satellite of Venus said to have been discovered by the 17th-century astronomer Giovanni Cassini.

In reality, it seems this celestial body does not actually exist.



2016年に創作した『ネイト』です。パーツは全部で30。接着剤を使わずに組み立てるモジュラータイプの作品です。

名前の由来は、17世紀に活躍した天文学者のジョバンニ・カッシーニによって発見されたとされる金星の衛星『ネイト』。実際にはこの天体は、どうやら存在しないらしい。

Tanit / タニト

This is a variation of Neith. It is decorated with decorative parts called “mini kamaboko.” No glue is required to assemble the Neith parts or to set the decorative parts in place.

The name “Tanit” comes from the god Tanit, the protector of the sea worshipped by the Phoenicians. In Egypt, Tanit is apparently identified with the goddess Neith.



ネイトのバリエーション作品です。『みじかめかまぼこ』というデコレーションパーツで飾っています。ネイトのパーツを組むときも、デコレーションパーツをセットするときも、接着剤は必要ありません。

名前の『タニト』は、フェニキア人が信仰した海の守護者のタニト神から。エジプトではネイト神と同一視されているそうです。
