Janus II / ヤヌス II

This is a modular type model that assembles parts without using glue. The parts are connected using Arabesque-joint.

This Janus II is an improved version of the original Janus, characterized by the layered appearance of the places extending from the joints to the body.

Like the original Janus, the body section can be opened. Depending on how it is opened, it can transform into various shapes.

There is a model called “Themis” that is almost identical in shape to Janus II. The process of creating the funnel shape for Themis is so complex that I gave up on drawing a diagram. It is likely more difficult to make than Lilith.

Janus II can be considered a simplified version of Themis.

The work’s name comes from Janus, the Roman god of beginnings and endings.



接着剤を使わずにパーツを組み立てるモジュラータイプの作品です。アラベスクジョイントでパーツ同士をつなぎます。

このヤヌスIIはヤヌスの改良バージョンで、接合部分から胴体に伸びている部分が、層のようになっているのが特徴です。

胴体の部分はヤヌスのように、開くことができます。開き方によって、いろいろな形に変化します。

このヤヌスIIとほぼ同じ形の作品に『テミス』があります。テミスは漏斗状にする工程があまりに複雑なので、図面にするのを諦めました。おそらく、リリスよりも、難易度が高いです。
ヤヌスIIはテミスの簡易バージョンと言えます。

名前の由来は、始まりと終わりを司るローマ神話の神『ヤヌス』から。
