Mitsuwari Series Yae-kikyou / 三つ割シリーズ 八重桔梗（やえききょう）

This is a variation of the Tem Tem Temari assembled with 60 pieces.
It is part of the “Mitsuwari Series,” in which the points where five pieces meet and the points where three pieces meet are swapped compared to the standard Tenten Temari.

The original Mitsuwari Series is made with paper cut in half using a unique method from a square sheet, but this new Mitsuwari Series is made with 1:2-ratio paper, just like Kotemari Series.

While the Kotemari series results in a finished body that is slightly smaller than the Mitsuwari Series, this piece is the same size as the Mitsuwari Series.

It has fewer folding steps than the Kotemari Series, making it easy to fold and to assemble. Furthermore, you can enjoy various creative touches, such as placing a bell or potpourri inside the hollow part of the piece.

The name “Yae-kikyo” comes from a Japanese family crest.



60パーツで組み立てるてんてんてまりのバリエーションです。普通のてんてんてまりの、パーツが5つ集まるポイントと3つ集まるポイントが入れ替わる『三つ割シリーズ』の作品のひとつ。

オリジナルの三つ割シリーズは、正方形の紙をユニークな切り方で半分にカットした紙から作られますが、この新しい三つ割シリーズは、小てまりシリーズと同じく、1：2の紙から作ります。

小てまりシリーズは三つ割シリーズよりも、一回り小さく仕上がりますが、この作品は三つ割シリーズと同じ大きさに仕上がります。

小てまりシリーズの作品よりも折り工程が少ないので、お手軽に作れます。また、作品の空洞部には鈴を入れたり、ポプリを入れたりと、色々工夫して楽しめます。

名前の『八重桔梗』は、家紋から。
