Lilith / リリス

This is a modular-type piece connecting parts with arabesque joints. Created in 2016.
Its form is very similar to “Neith of Giovanni”. The difference is that the flower where the five parts come together is single- petal in Neito, while double-petal in Lilith.
The sample Lillith keeps its inner petals closed, but they can be opened.

It’s a subtle difference, but the folding method for Lilith is significantly more complex and challenging than Neith of Giovanni.
In fact, Lilith might be in the top five most difficult pieces I’ve ever created.

Those familiar with “net drawing” of origami might have no problem, but I think most people will struggle with the diagram for a while.
Honestly, even I, who drew the diagram, look at it and wonder if anyone can actually complete this piece.

This is a piece that I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to test their skills.



アラベスクジョイントでパーツをつなぐ、モジュラータイプの作品です。2016年創作。
ジョバンニのネイトとフォルムがとてもよく似ています。違いは、パーツが5つ集まるところの花が、ネイトではひとえ、リリスはふたえになっています。
見本のリリスは、内側の花弁は閉じたままですが、ひらくこともできます。

ほんの少しの違いですが、リリスの折り方はジョバンニのネイトに比べると、はるかに複雑で、難解です。
実際、このリリスという作品は、私が創作した作品の中でも、折り方の難易度はトップ5に入るかもしれません。

『展開図折り』に慣れている人は大丈夫かもしれませんが、たいていの人は、しばらく折り図と格闘することになると思います。
まぁ、折り図を描いた私でさえ、この図面を見て、ほんとうに作品を完成できるひとがいるのだろうか。と、思うほど。

腕試しをしてみたい猛者さまたちに、ぜひともチャレンジしてみてほしい作品です。
