These are variations of “La Folia” design.

La Folia do not have proper pockets; instead, the flaps are simply inserted into the gaps between the paper layers to join them.
Of course, if left as is, they would easily come off, so a specific “fold” is added at the connection point to secure them firmly.

In these variations of “La Folia Variations,” the width of this “fold” differs.

Both “Present from Fröbel” and “Rhombus” are types of Fröbel patterns.

“Present from Fröbel” is the design known in Japan as “Kiku” (Chrysanthemum); joining six of these units together creates a *kusudama*.



フォリア変奏曲のバリエーションです。

フォリア変奏曲はきちんとしたポケットはなく、単に紙のスキマにフラップを差し込んでつないでいます。もちろんそのままでは、するすると外れてしまうので、つなぎ目部分に『折り』を加えて、がっちり留めています。

フォリア変奏曲のバリエーションは、この『折り』の幅が違っています。

『フレーベルの贈り物』も『菱』も、どちらもフレーベルパターンのひとつです。

『フレーベルの贈り物』はいわゆる日本では『菊』と呼ばれているものです。6枚貼り合わせるとくすだまになります。
