Characteristics of “Flower of life”. / 「フラワーオブライフ」の特徴
“Flower of life” is a modular-type that doesn’t need glue,
parts are connected by “Twins joint”.
“Twins joint” uses flaps and pockets to connect parts, it’s like a normal joint of modular origami, but it has a big characteristic which is a flap and a pocket are the same shapes.
So, it means a pocket can be a flap or a flap can be a pocket.
The maker can choose to put it in a flap or a pocket.
With regard to “Flower of life”, places of flaps and pockets must be diagonal positions.
And flaps and pockets of all 30 parts must be the same places.
「フラワーオブライフ」は接着剤を必用としないモジュラータイプの作品で、ジョイニングメソッドは「ツインズジョイント」が使われています。
「ツインズジョイント」はフラップとポケットを使ってパーツをつなぎます。一見すると一般的なモジュラー折り紙で使われる、フラップをポケットに差し込んでパーツを組む「フラップ&ポケットジョイント」のようですが、「ツインズジョイント」はフラップとポケットが全く同じ形状をしているという大きな特徴があります。
これは、フラップとポケットを入れ替えることができるということを意味します。つまり、フラップはポケットに、ポケットはフラップにすることができます。
ジョイント部をフラップにするかポケットにするかは、作品の作り手が自由に決めることができます。
ただこの「フラワーオブライフ」に関しては、ひとつのパーツにフラップとポケットはふたつずつあるようにし、その位置は対角の位置にしなければなりません。また、30のすべてのパーツのフラップとポケットの位置は、同じでなければなりません。

Also, “Seed of life” is a modular-type work, parts are connected by “Arabesque-joint”.
Processes that make folding lines and make a folded shape are the same completely, but in this work, I drew the different folding processes so that unnecessary folding lines were not added to make it work look nicer.
Its processes can be applied to both “Flower of life” and “Seed of life”.
“Seed of life” can be folded by using processes of “Flower of life” as well.
It can be said that “Seed of life” is a work that parts of “Flower of life” are connected by “Arabesque-joint”.
「シードオブライフ」も接着剤を必要としないモジュラータイプの作品で、パーツは「アラベスクジョイント」でつなぎます。
折り線をつけて全体をたたむ工程は「フラワーオブライフ」と全く同じですが、この「シードオブライフ」の折り図には別の折り方が描いてあります。
もちろん「フラワーオブライフ」の折り工程で折ることもできますが、「シードオブライフ」に描かれている折り方をすると無駄な折り線が省かれて、完成作品の見栄えが良くなります。
この折り方は「フラワーオブライフ」や「ツリーオブライフ」にも適用することができます。
「フラワーオブライフ」と「シードオブライフ」はほぼ同じ折り方をします。両者の違いは、パーツをつなぐ方法です。
「シードオブライフ」は「フラワーオブライフ」を「アラベスクジョイント」でつないだ作品とも言えます。
Characteristics of “Tree of life”. / 「ツリーオブライフ」の特徴
“Tree of life” was created Aut.2020 for this diagram.
The work is a modular-type too, parts are connected by “Finger-joint”.
One joint place in a part using “Finger joint” has one or more flaps and pockets.
With respect to “Tree of life”, one joint has a flap and a pocket, then one part has four flaps and four pockets.
A flap will be inserted into a pocket alternately,
it makes parts don’t come off easily.
The name of “Finger joint” come from terminology for architectures.

After all parts assembled, adjusting the shape, it’s like a flower blooming.
「ツリーオブライフ」はこの折り図のために新しく作られた作品で、接着剤を必要としないモジュラータイプです。
フィンガージョイントでつなぐ作品のパーツのひとつのジョイント部にはひとつ以上のフラップとポケットがあります。この「ツリーオブライフ」に関しては、ひとつのジョイント部にひとつのフラップとひとつのポケットがあり、ひとつのパーツに4つずつのフラップとポケットがあります。
このフラップとポケットが交互に差し込まれることによって、簡単にパーツが外れにくくなっています。
全部のパーツを組み立てた後で作品の形を整えると、まるで木に花が咲いたようになります。
